Design an original square app-icon concept for [APP PURPOSE]. Use one recognizable [SYMBOL] on a [BACKGROUND] background with [COLORS]. Keep details bold enough to remain readable at small size and leave safe margins around the symbol. Avoid text and unnecessary decorative elements. Provide the full square artwork without assuming a platform's final mask. Treat this as a concept image; platform-specific icon layers, dimensions and packaging must be prepared and checked separately.

Choose a symbol that describes the task

An app icon has very little space. Begin with one recognizable shape instead of a miniature screenshot or the full app name. A simple silhouette can survive different background colors and display sizes.

Example: a reading tracker

Try “An open cream-colored book with one gold bookmark on a deep plum square. Two broad pages, no tiny lines, no letters and generous margins.” Ask for a flat version before experimenting with depth or gradients.

View the result at 24 and 48 pixels. If the bookmark disappears, make it wider. If the pages merge with the background, increase contrast rather than adding a heavy glow.

Prepare platform assets

Do not bake a phone screenshot, drop shadow outside the square or an assumed corner mask into the only master file. Android adaptive layers and store artwork may need separate treatment. Check current platform instructions when exporting. A generated square image is not automatically a complete icon package or proof that the asset will pass store review.
