Help design a course on [SUBJECT] for [AUDIENCE AND STARTING LEVEL]. Available time, teaching format and resources: [DETAILS]. Define observable learning outcomes, necessary prerequisites, a suitable module sequence and practice activities. For each assessment, explain what it checks and what successful work looks like. Estimate workload with assumptions. Use verified resources only. Do not invent accreditation, professional certification, platform endorsement or guaranteed career results.
Define what learners will be able to do
Replace broad outcomes such as “understand spreadsheets” with an observable task. That makes it easier to choose lessons and decide whether an exercise actually teaches the intended skill.
Example: a beginner household budget course
Use a fictional dataset and plan three sessions: enter and format expenses, total categories and create a simple chart. The final task is to build a readable monthly worksheet and explain what its totals include. Keep the course about spreadsheet skills rather than giving personal financial advice.
Ask for an exercise after each lesson and a checklist for reviewing the final worksheet. A quiz about button names alone does not show that someone can use the tool.
Check the workload
Try the first activity yourself and allow time for mistakes, questions and revision. Identify any prerequisite software access before advertising the course. Label a completion certificate accurately; it is not automatically an accredited qualification. Update resource links and interface instructions when the tools change.
