Define the boundary of the illusion
Place the real person beside an easel, with the sketch clearly flat on its canvas. Only one drawn arm should extend from the sketch into the room. Keeping that boundary explicit reduces the chance of a duplicate person replacing the drawing.
Solve the hand contact first
