Write a [DURATION]-minute YouTube script about [TOPIC] for [AUDIENCE]. Use these verified notes: [NOTES]. Open with the problem and what viewers will learn, then explain the steps with examples. Add matching shot or screen-recording notes in brackets. Finish with a useful recap and one relevant next action. Mark facts needing verification. Avoid fabricated results, subscriber credentials or guaranteed retention. Include a natural chapter break if appropriate; advertising placement depends on the channel's actual options.
Plan something viewers can follow
A script works best when the promised result is visible. Choose one task and show it from start to finish instead of stretching a list of tips into a long introduction.
Example: organize a downloads folder
Use the brief “A four-minute beginner tutorial on sorting downloaded files into Documents, Pictures and Installers.” Start by showing a cluttered test folder. Demonstrate selecting a few files, moving them into named folders and checking that nothing was deleted. End by showing how to find one moved document.
Ask for narration beside the exact screen action. If the voiceover says “click here,” replace it with the visible button or folder name. This makes the script easier to understand on a small screen.
Rehearse before recording
Read the narration aloud with pauses for clicks and demonstrations. A written duration is only an estimate. Remove any step that depends on a menu your version does not have. Use your own test files and keep personal filenames, notifications and account details out of the recording.
